THE NEW ARKET STORE & CAFE AT COPENHAGEN AIRPORT

2

As a frequent flyer from Milano to Stavanger (and back), I am usually stopping at the airport in Copenhagen on the way because there are no direct flights. It is simply my favorite airport and a great excuse to get a bit of shopping done or grab one last cinnamon bun before I head back home. On my last trip, I was very happy to discover that this September ARKET opened an edited version of their store & cafe in terminal 2, so suddenly my pit stops in Cph got a whole lot better! I can confirm that it is the perfect spot to relax in the midst of what can be quite a chaotic place.

This is actually the first ARKET store located inside an airport, and the first time I got to visit one. The Swedish chain is a modern-day market offering essential products for men, women, children and the home. Their mission is to democratize quality through widely accessible, well-made, durable products, designed to be used and loved for a long time.

I loved the atmopshere there. An airport can be quite a noisy and stressful place to be, but stepping inside ARKET made me feel calm. The soothing music, the super friendly staff and the look of the place gave it a relaxing vibe and made me forget where I was. If you are a bit of a nervous traveler and need somewhere to escape while you are at Copenhagen airport, or simply want a cozy place to wait, I recommend heading to this little hidden gem. It might, however, end up with you wanting to purchase everything you see, so be warned.

I decided to try their own variation of the classic Swedish cinnamon bun: the Sticky Love Bun along with an oat milk cappuccino. The bun was simply heavenly, a sticky and salty treat baked from organic wheat flour, topped with salt-roasted almonds and homemade salty-caramel sauce. Worth trying next time you visit.

The ARKET café offers quality ingredients and healthy living, with q focus on purity, freshness, simplicity and ethics naturally associated with the Nordic region that reflects the changing seasons. The food available looked delicious, so on my next trip I will stop by again to try more of it. (Watch this space…)

  1. This store is quite popular and the reason is interiors! They have high quality, may be imported interiors that grabs attention. Look at that center table and seating arrangement, it looks so satisfying. If this would be outside the cafe with some plants around, it would give me a jungle feeling. :D

    • Agreed :-) Since this cafe is inside an airport it is not possible to create an outdoor space, but I believe their other cafes in the city have that so worth checking out!
