Nærvær (meaning presence) is Copenhagen’s new wine bar & restaurant, located in Krøyers Plads with the water and the Inderhavnsbroen as a backdrop to the city’s light. The restaurant can only seat no more than twelve people, and the space is divided into different areas to help enhance the intimate experience.
Danish Norm Architects used a dark palette combined with warm materials and minimal lighting to create a cosy atmosphere. The place is full of character, and the custom lighting made by the Danes are a beautiful addition.
“With an interior design defined by an array of stone, wood and metal, the materials are all natural and have deliberately been altered in order to create dark and industrial surfaces that matches the mood of the place. This conscious focus on tactility brings a warm, material richness to the interior that naturally compliments the raw concrete walls and industrial framework of the space.” – Norm Architects
Because of the limited space, it is recommended to book if you are planning to visit. Nærvær is located at Strandgade 87 C, stuen, 1401 København K, Denmark. Find out more here.
If you are planning a trip to Oslo be sure to check out this beautiful restaurant designed by Anderssen & Voll. Happolati is located on St. Olavs Plass and is a lovely mix of Asia and Scandinavia, with both the interior and the food inspired by Japan with a Nordic twist. The space looks open and inviting, and the dark floor blends nicely in with the bar. I love the creative wood lamp on the wall which reminds me of origami, a lovely detail!

OSLO is a vegetarian restaurant in Valencia, a little piece of Scandinavia in Spain with a warm and welcoming atmosphere! It is situated inside a 1850 building where you can discover little special areas throughout the space. The designers, Borja García Studio, has respected the atmosphere of the old building with the wooden beams in the ceiling and the brick wall. This combined with the modern and minimal furniture and touches adds the perfect Nordic feel.
Väkst is a lovely & green restaurant in Copenhagen. In the middle of the restaurant there is a large greenhouse, built through the two floors of the space, created to transport guest into the sensation of a lush garden – in the heart of the city. Here guests are invited to an informal and Nordic dining experience. The menu takes great emphasis on seasonal vegetables, alongside barbequed steak, full-cooked fish and fresh shellfish.
Lightbulbs and sails are hanging from the ceiling and the floor is painted to look like a giant tablecloth, which together with all the green plants gives you the feeling of being at a stylish garden party!
