MAKING YOUR HOME THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH

0

Autumn is well and truly upon us, and life is getting cozier and cozier. Hands up who loves this time of year.

On Instagram you have all been sharing so many lovely moments, it is getting so hard to choose just four of them to feature here each month. We have actually surpassed 4000 posts now on the #thatscandinavianfeeling, and it warms my heart to see you all embracing the hashtag and sharing the love like a warm hug.

September is all about getting cozy, and that means creating a happy and lovely atmosphere at home. Whether that is by decorating with autumnal items like pine cones, leaves, chestnuts and wildflowers, baking cinnamon buns to fill your house with the most amazing smell, or turning on the fire and practice hygge. And talking about hygge, did you see the pretty autumn hygge ideas list by Grand Stories Design? She has kindly created a free printable for you full of fun and cozy activities which can be downloaded for free here.

How do you find that Scandinavian feeling in your life? I love looking at all your posts on Instagram of how you slow down and enjoy the little things. Every month I feature four moments shared in the feed by you, and below you can find this month’s selection. These monthly little catch-ups are a great way to get to know each other and to discover new accounts, so make sure you click through to see more of their beautiful feeds and give them a follow.

1 // @scwaard
“For me that Scandinavian feeling is about appreciating the little things in life and the beauty nature has to offer. The mountains and the fjords, a colourful sunset, a glass of wine in front of an open fireplace or a bonfire by the lake.”

2 // @sofiestaunsager
“One of the precious things about living in Scandinavia is the fact that I’m always close to the ocean. It makes me calm, wandering along the beach especially on this time of the year, when the windy weather and slow darkness begin to settle in. Accepting that winter is coming and realizing the wonder of the changing seasons.”

3 // @bruun.uk
“To us at Brüün that Scandinavian feeling encapsulates a number of simple rules for living:

Enjoy and value what nature offer us. So our products are made from sustainably-sourced timber and let the wood speak for itself.

Strip things back – who needs fuss? We let function inform our design.

Remember whats important – family and friends. That’s why we love a bit of fika. Good food and coffee but more importantly shared with time and love.”

4 // @upgradesign.blog
“That Scandinavian feeling is finding your home tidy and peaceful. Designing it and redesigning it, to fit your lifestyle. Organizing it to enable both relaxation and dinner party hosting. Decorating it to bring you joy – during the process as well as afterwards. Scandinavian feeling is seeing your home as the happiest place on Earth.”

Join in and share your moments too by adding the hashtag. How do you find a Scandinavian feeling wherever you are? How are you enjoying the little things in life and enjoying autumn?
