Happy new month, and one year of #thatscandinavianfeeling! I am so happy that so many of you are following along and sharing your cozy moments over on Instagram using my hashtag. It has been so lovely to discover new accounts and seeing you interpret what That Scandinavian Feeling is, and I can’t wait to see more.
Last month saw the start of summer and a bit of a heatwave in many countries, but despite the heat, we made sure to savor those cozy moments to the fullest. Summertime and hygge go hand-in-hand, there are so many ways you can keep that feeling of comfort, warmth, and relaxation even in the warmer months. For me, going for a walk or a picnic in the park has been a great way to slow down and enjoy life. Here in Italy it has been very hot and my apartment has been quite unbearable, but being outside in the shadow of the trees and feeling the breeze has been a blessing. I have been enjoying iced coffees, ice cream, and fresh fruit to cool down, as well as multiple visits to IKEA and shopping centers where the temperature has been better. In fact, on my last trip to IKEA, I discovered a couple asleep on a sofa in one of the living rooms, so I was not the only person seeking coolness there… This weekend we finally got an aircon installed, so in July my apartment will yet again be my cozy and peaceful place.
I do hope you join in and share your images on Instagram too! It’s a great way for us all to get together and spread some Summer hygge. So, what is That Scandinavian Feeling to you? How do you create a cozy environment in your home now at summertime?

“That Scandinavian Feeling to me is a lazy Saturday morning, surrounded by my favorite books, nestled on a rug with a pillow. It is a peaceful feeling that floats in the air.”

“That Scandinavian Feeling, for me, is the beauty of the atmosphere that you can find in the little things of every day. It is a warm coffee on a rainy day, the softness of your new pillows or just the smell of the laundry… it’s all that makes you feel good in your home!”

“I’ve (unfortunately) not been in Scandinavia yet, therefore I think that mainly the colours of my pictures gives me That Scandinavian Feeling. White as the snow, green as the endless landscapes and a diffused light above clear and simplest lines. That’s what my mind has captured in it.”
