BEST SCANDINAVIAN ADVENT CALENDARS CHRISTMAS 2018

0

Last year I did a post sharing my favorite Scandinavian advent calendars, and I thought it was a great idea to do another updated post this year since there are many new ones.

Advent calendars seem to be more and more popular (even my dog gets one). You can find anything from your traditional chocolate ones to beauty, stationary or tea on the market – the possibilities are endless. For anyone wanting to have a unique calendar for a loved one or their kids, there are also many great empty ones that can be re-used each year. Or what about creating your own DIY calendar?

So with that in mind, I hope there is something that tickles your fancy in my diverse list below:

1 // LIQUORICE CHRISTMAS CALENDAR FROM LAKRIDS

Every year since I was a child I have had an advent calendar, something that makes Christmas time even more joyful and exciting. This year I purchased the Lakrids calendar by Johan Bülow because I got so curious about it when I saw last years version. It is full of liquorice treats that will excite, delight and surprise you every day. Perfect for a liquorice lover (like me!) This year, the advent calendar is also available as a larger family size version with even more treats inside.

Get ready for a little Christmas journey through a world of glistening sights, crispy surprises, and sweet delights. As you count down for Christmas Eve, may your days be full of childlike wonder – and the things coming very close to it: Lakrids and chocolate.

Find the normal size here, and the family size here.

2 // CLASSIC CHOCOLATE CALENDAR FROM SØSTRENE GRENE

If you are after a sweet, traditional chocolate calendar this one from Søstrene Grene might be the one for you. I actually bought this one for my boyfriend when I was back home in Norway, and think the classic design is so sweet. Inside you find handmade Danish chocolate, so I am sure he can’t wait for December to start.

Unfortunately, Søstrene Grene does not have an online store, but you can see their full festive range in the online Christmas catalog and also find lots of great DIY inspiration on their website.

3 // ARCTIC BEAUTY TREASURES FROM LUMENE

Finnish brand Lumene has a new luxurious Nordic beauty advent calendar with 24 beauty must-haves. Behind each door hides the perfect surprise, packed with 20 skincare and 4 make-up favorites from the brand. Perfect as a gift or a treat for yourself and your skin!

4 // MODERN DO IT YOURSELF ADVENT CALENDAR

This modern DIY advent calendar requires no craft skills, no chocolate, and it’s super easy to make it yourself. With a modern and graphic style, a dash of metallic silver and gold, it adds a reflective festive sparkle.

Find out how to make it from We Are Scout.

5 // 24 DAYS OF TEA FROM NUTE

Now you can enjoy a cup of tea each day in December while at the same time trying out the range of teas and blends available from Nute. This Scandinavian brand creates tea blends of both classic and new combinations with character and distinction, inspired by the nature surrounding us.

6 // MINIMAL CHRISTMAS CALENDAR FROM DESIGNLETTERS

You might recognize this one from last years post, but I love it so much I could not resist adding it in again. This year, however, the stylish Christmas calendar from DESIGNLETTERS comes in a new dark green shade. With space for 24 small gifts – one for each day in December until it is finally Christmas Eve, it will be great to keep for years to come. And the minimal look will fit into all Scandinavian style homes.

Get the green version here, or a black longer design here.

7 // SCANDINAVIAN SPECIALTY COFFEE ADVENT CALENDAR FROM KAFFEBOX

Who doesn’t love coffee? This Scandinavian specialty coffee advent calendar from KaffeBox is perfect as you get to taste a new flavor each day throughout advent. It includes 24 x 50g packages of freshly roasted, whole bean specialty coffee – individually numbered for each day. The coffee will be roasted by 12 of the top craft coffee roasters in Scandinavia, 2 bags from each roaster. Each day features a unique single origin coffee, perfect for winter hygge.

For every advent calendar sold, KaffeBox donates 200 NOK to charity: water. The amount raised from last year’s calendar was enough to solely sponsor the building a clean water well in Malawi.

Find the calendar here, and be quick – last day to order it is the 20th of November!

8 // HOUSE ADVENT CALENDAR FROM FERM LIVING

This cute little advent calendar shaped like a house from Ferm Living has space for a small gift on all the four Sundays of Advent. The calendar is available in three different colours; dark green, off-white and rose. In the same design, you can also get a calendar with 24 little pockets – one for each day of December.

Find them all here in their Christmas collection.

9 // EASY DIY ADVENT CALENDAR

I love the idea of this DIY modern advent calendar by Burkatron. It can be a great way to create a personal advent calendar for someone, with little messages or quotes behind each number. You can also use this kind of base to hang little, wrapped gifts on too.

For the youngest ones in the family, what about this adorable Wee Gallery advent calendar? With sweet animals in their signature hand-painted style screen-printed on to 100% organic cotton twill, it has a pocket for each of the 24 days leading up to Christmas.
