The String shelf is a timeless classic in my mind and something that has been on my wish-list for quite a long time now. It is a great flexible shelving system that dates back to 1949, and its minimal look and versatility makes for the perfect place to display all your design items.
This month at Imm Cologne, String Furniture released their new collection with features and details that bring totally new functionality to their shelves such as mirror cabinets and hangers. It is great to see this Swedish brand evolve, and I can’t wait to see what they show us at Milano Design Week this year as their stand is always one of my favourites.
I love the new bottle trays and wine glass hanger racks, the perfect accessories to turn your shelf into a home bar. The wine glasses can be stored hanging upside down in a filigree hanger rack mounted to the underside of the shelf. Furthermore, a mirror cabinet, which can be integrated into the modular shelving system, turns the hallway or the bathroom into an exclusive beauty zone.
What do you think of these new designs? Will you be updating your shelving systems with any of the new features?
