Did you know that it’s the national coffee day today? In honour of all things coffee I therefore decided to share a little selection of some nice Scandinavian design mugs. So grab a coffee and have a browse;
KÄHLER ‘BARISTO CUP’
This collection of aesthetic coffee cups by Danish Kähler is so effortlessly beautiful, and adds a design twist to any kitchen. You can also get the Baristo Stand to create a cosy café atmosphere in your own home.
ALMEDAHLS ‘SILL MUG’
This mug has a traditional pattern of herring (or sill as we say in Scandinavia) on, which has been around since it was created in Sweden in the 50s. Now it has become a design classic with the perfect Nordic mood.
DARLING CLEMENTINE ‘RAINDROPS MUG’
Enjoy a coffee on a rainy day from this pretty mug by Norwegian Darling Clementine. If you are more of a confetti kinda person there is also another mug for you, but you know that rain is just confetti from the sky anyway..
HOUSE OF RYM ‘JUST MY CUP OF TEA CUP’
This lovely cup is designed by Elisabeth Dunker for Swedish brand House of Rym. It has the perfect autumn vibe and brightens up any cold day.
DESIGN HOUSE STOCKHOLM ‘MINE’
Technically this is a teacup but I thought it was too beautiful to leave out. The Mine cup was designed by Anna Kraitz and is an elegant piece of everyday luxury. The main feature is the non-traditional handle which comes in different colours and adds an unexpected touch.
FERM LIVING ‘GEOMETRY ESPRESSO CUPS’
This set of four cups all in different design by Danish Ferm Living are a fun way to liven up your table. The geometric pattern gives the perfect Scandinavian feel, and they work just as well alone as together.
The Sarjaton mug by Finnish design brand Iittala come in pink and white with a subtle knitted pattern or white with a simplistic tree pattern. The whole range is inspired and shaped by Finnish traditions, and rooted in folklore and artisan rituals.
DESIGN LETTERS ‘MONOGRAM MUG’
The alphabet porcelain mugs with typography by the iconic Danish designer Arne Jacobsen are everywhere nowadays. They are available in the letters A – Z and are so versatile; use them to serve coffee or tea, as a candle holder, to store pens in on your desk or simply just as decorations on a shelf spelling out a name or feeling (I have me & my boyfriends initials and I love it)..
Hope your day was was full of coffee & joy!
