I recently got a couple of new items for my desk, and I am particularly happy with this new pin board from Maisons du Monde! It’s so useful to have a board on the wall to hang up things for inspiration, cards you receive or other items you want to keep nearby. This one is great because of its thick frame and geometric pattern, and it ties great in with my white, minimalistic style.
On the board I currently have;
📌 New copper hairpins from Monki (so that I don’t loose them..)
📌 The cute ‘DONUT WORRY’ badge I got from Jesiiii
📌 FRIDAY’ necklace from H&M because who doesn’t love Friday’s right?
📌 Cards I got at the Norwegian Presence exhibition last year in Milano
📌 Cute postcard received from No Ordinary Tales
📌 ‘THANKS A MILLION’ postcard by Oh Corrin
📌 Lightning bolt earrings I bought at the David Bowie exhibition at V&A in London a couple of years ago (which was amazing!)
📌 A little inspiration from SKANDINAVISK
The desk itself is from IKEA, its just the right to store my essentials. I try my best to keep it tidy and not to clutter it up with too many things, but I am in need of some kind of storage / drawers to keep all the boring stuff in.
I try to keep my work space a bit fun because I think contrary to popular beliefs that its important to mix work & play! So on my desk-lamp I have my trusted little friend the Kay Bojesen wooden monkey hanging looking at me. The HAY ballograf is also just there mostly for decoration, as I feel almost like its too pretty to use..
The Kvissle desk organizer from IKEA is very handy to store both books & paper but also pens & rulers. In it I have a couple og books; the Wallpaper Milan city guide, a colouring in book I got for Christmas & a Scandinavian Design book. I also have some cute colour pencils I bought at the Edvard Munch Museum in Oslo last time I visited. Each of the colours are named after his paintings and he is my favourite painter so they always brighten up my day.
On the desk I also keep my trusted laptop which I couldn’t live without, my diary for keeping organized, my jug of water, another little glass for storing some more pens & usually some sort of snack to keep me going.
So there you have it, my little but fun work station!
