One of the shops I miss going for a browse in back home is Monki. If you haven’t heard of this Swedish brand before, be prepared to be inspired by their quirky & cool style! They describe themselves as “a wild and crazy international retail concept that believes that it needs to fight ordinary and boost imagination with an experience out of the ordinary” and I couldn’t agree more. Their website is currently full of great items, here are some of my favourite ones;
Be sure to check out #monkistyle for more inspiration or have a browse in store if you are lucky enough to be located near one.
Is it too early to get excited for Easter?.. The other day I went to Tiger, one of my favourite shops for affordable Scandi-style decorations, and got a couple of fun items to start the countdown!
Chocolate eggs – because they are without doubt the best part of Easter. These pastel coloured ones are the perfect decoration to have in a bowl on the table (if you can resist to not eat them..)
Polkadot egg-shaped candles! These will look so good next to the chocolates, and will fit perfectly in my Seletti Egg Holder in ceramics.
These little stickers are to decorate eggs with, a fun idea for the breakfast table on Easter morning. I might put these stickers other places too.. They come in a pack of 2 sheets so you have plenty to spare.
Tiger doesn’t have an online store, but they are now located in 27 countries around the world and you can find a full list on their website.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… 🎶 And if you haven’t already started with the Christmas decorations I thought I would help by sharing some lovely inspiration from IKEA. They have such a great range of both modern & nostalgic Christmas items, and the best part is that it’s all great value for money.
So here is some of my favourite holiday picks from the website;
The STRÅLA pendant lamp gives a warm, cosy glow and spreads the holiday atmosphere in your home.
If it’s not snowing outside you can still create that wintery feeling in your window by adding cute snowflake ornaments from twigs. Also, these STÖPEN LED candles are so nice (and safe) to put up for instance in any bottles or jars you have. I quite like these ENSIDIG vases used here.
And why not bake a traditional gingerbread house in true Scandinavian style using this PEPPARKAKA HUS pack! When I was young we would always build & decorate one, and wait until after New Years Eve when we got to finally smash it so we could eat it.. Yum!
